
Gavan Hatfield is Vice President, Business Development for GE in Australia and New Zealand.
Gavan has held this role since joining GE in August 2000. He is responsible for the acquisition and sale of businesses, as well as joint ventures and strategy support, for all of GE's businesses in Australia and New Zealand, across both the industrial and financial sectors.
Gavan began his career at McCaughan Dyson in its Corporate Advisory Division – providing advice on mergers and acquisitions. The firm was then acquired by the ANZ Bank and changed name to ANZ Securities. In 1992, he joined the Melbourne office of English-based investment bank Hambros, still advising on mergers and acquisitions. This firm was taken over by Societe Generale in 1998.
Gavan has a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Melbourne.
